A note on the wooden board: Scorch marks, warping, and cracking are completely normal after first use. The board is designed to shield your work surface from extreme heat, acting as a sacrificial layer. While it won’t affect the performance of your cast iron, we recommend using the board only briefly for transferring food or plating up. Cast iron holds serious heat, so expect the board to show signs of the battle.
